How to find a short circuit?
How to find a short circuit? please help me”
There are many ways of finding a short circuit, from hand held trouble lights like I show in the video, to freeze frame digital metering systems (which I use as a professional mechanic. BUT for the basic do it yourselfer, a test light is the best thing to use. Basically you disconnect the positive battery terminal cable and connect a test light between that terminal and the now disconnected cable. If the test light comes on bright, then there is a short. Remove all the fuses one at a time, and when you hit the circuit that has the short, the light will go out. Then you must trace that system to find where the short it. Realize that shorts are often at the end of a circuit–such as the switch that turns the circuit on, or the device that is turned on (like a brake light socket assembly.) Good Luck,
