How to keep new car clean?

Just got a new car and would like to know how to keep it looking good. The sales person said the car is “sienized”(probably spelled wrong) where I dont need to wax the car for 5000miles. What you have to say? There are so many brands out there for car care. What wash liquid, wax, and polish do you recommend for keeping the car new? what kinds of cloths should i use?”

You’re right, it’s called Simonized. Now ANY car, regardless of age, should be waxed four times a year, once at the beginning of EVERY season. The hard paste waxes work the best, BUT you don’t need to buy that hundred dollar German wax. Just a good carnauba based hard wax in a can is fine. Wash the car, let it dry in the shade, then wax it in the shade, NEVER in the sun. And use good soft cloth to apply the wax and to remove it when it’s dry. After each waxing, wash the cloths before you use them again. Use the washing machine when your wife isn’t looking, that gets them really clean.
